BY ELIZA MAHON
Reality
Life
Hope
Light
I try to hold on
It slips
It falls
Down
Down
Down
Darkness tries to suffocate it
It cries out
Help me
Help me
It’s no-man’s land
And the women are gone
It plummets
Into a well
Of despair
Of distrust
Of betrayal
It plummets
Into the reality we call
Earth.
Viva la Révolution
No one will tell me why. Why they torture innocent children. Why they refuse to change corrupt laws. Why they are deaf to the cries of the activists. They try to stop us from speaking out, from protesting, from uniting. No longer. We are strong. We are unified. We are ready. They do not realize that by oppressing us, we have become powerful. Watch out world. The Revolution has begun.
